Political Affairs—Positions, Challenges and Accomplishments

Over the years, IOGA members have prioritized involvement in political affairs as the number one goal of the Association. To that end, IOGA, a non-profit 501-C-6 business trade organization, has been involved in state and national issues throughout its existence.

It takes an incredible amount of time and resources on behalf of the IOGA staff, leadership and interested members to be involved to be effective with state and national issues affecting the industry. Research, development of positions, education and engagement of the membership, collaboration with parties of interest, meetings in person and online, travel, lobby time and persistence.

Positions of the Association are established by the membership in terms of resolutions approved by a quorum of the membership during annual meetings. The IOGA Board of Directors can also approve official positions of the Association. For a partial list of IOGA resolution topics click here.
