Dues Incentive Program
IOGA Outfitter Dues Incentive Program
For every dollar a member raises on their own or through the IOGA office, 25% of the net return to IOGA may be applied towards the member’s dues. Monies received by the IOGA office during a fiscal year (July 1 – June 30) will be credited towards the outfitter’s dues for the following IOGA fiscal year only. Monies cannot be carried over to a second year. This includes the Dollars for Outdoors program, trips donated for IOGA fundraising events, SCI national and regular donated trips. It also includes new members, cash contributions or grants from organizations such as FNAWS, SCI and RMEF that an outfitter member obtains for IOGA.
Dollars for Outdoors
This is a very simple way to raise funds for IOGA. You simply add a “voluntary” contribution on your invoice for a specified amount, incorporate the IOGA mission and be certain to advise that the contribution is NOT tax deductible. You collect the funds and send them to IOGA at the most convenient time for you (monthly, quarterly, annually, etc.).
Example: “To help conserve and enhance the quality of outdoor experiences on Idaho’s lands and waters, (your business name) adds $1 (or chosen amount) per day voluntary donation to go to the Idaho Outfitters and Guides Association, a non-profit business trade organization. This donation is not tax deductible. Let us know if you choose not to contribute and this amount will be deducted from the cost of your trip.”
25% of any funds received by IOGA during a fiscal year (July 1—June 30) are credited towards your dues for the next fiscal year. This is a win-win-win for the outfitter, client, and IOGA.
Since the program began in 2000, 12-15 outfitters have participated each year raising over $49,000 total for IOGA. Each of them will tell you how simple it has been to participate in this program. Many of them simply added a line on their invoice (after the trip cost, taxes, and use fees) with the voluntary contribution amount before the invoice is totaled. Can you imagine the funds that could be raised for IOGA if all of our members participated in this program?
