OROFINO - Saturday, April 12th, Orofino City Park
The 2nd Annual Idaho State Championship Elk Calling Contest is sponsored by Nightforce, (makers of the world's finest rifle scopes). The contest will be hosted by the Idaho Outfitters & Guides Association (IOGA) at Orofino's Spring Round-Up.
There are four divisions:
Professional (anyone sponsored by a manufacturer) (Entry fee: $50)
Adult (men or women) (Entry fee: $25)
Youth (boy or girl 11-17) (Entry fee: $10)
PeeWee (boy or girl 10 & under) (Entry fee $10)
Trophies will be awarded to 1st Place winners of each division. a $5.00 opt-in cash pot is offered for contestants where the winner in each division takes all. Additionally, IOGA is giving $25 to each division for the opt-in pot.
A $5.00 spectator admission fee for the Elk Calling Contest gives spectators a chance to win in drawings during admission.
Spring Round-Up tickets are sold seperately and allow you to participate in all of the events of the day as well as having the mouth-watering Rib-Eye Steak Dinner with Dutch Oven delights. You'll enjoy such things as live bluegrass music by the 'Lonesome Pine Drifters' and participating in seminars, games, raffles & live & silent auctions. This is a fun time for everyone with beverages and campfire atmosphere. Around 200 people attend.
Part of the proceeds from the Spring Round-Up go to Clearwater Valley Chapter of IOGA 'ICARE' project (Cancer Assistance & Recovery Effort). Another portion of the proceeds provide four (4) area High School scholarships.
