Marketing Description
Purpose:
The purpose of the Committee is to assist the Association with determining the scope (program) of organization group marketing on an annual basis. Role: The Committee's role is to review and advise the Executive Committee and the Executive Director on the IOGA Marketing Plan. Advise the above on which strategies from the Plan will be included in the annual IOGA grant request to the Idaho Travel Council. The Committee also advises the Executive Committee and Executive Director on the annual contract and related scope of work associated with the Marketing Coordinator. The Marketing Coordinator works with the Committee to provide information in an ad hoc advisory capacity.
Relationships:
The Marketing Committee would best be served by advising the IOGA chapters that they provide a direct link or liaison person with the Committee. As mentioned above, the Committee advises the Executive Committee and Executive Director on the scope of grants and contract with the Marketing Coordinator. The Committee should attempt to meet during the annual fall meeting, possibly during the spring meeting and during the Governor's Conference on Recreation and Tourism. The IOGA staff will provide the committee members with copies of the quarterly reports provided the ITC grant coordinator. All committee members will receive the final copy of the IOGA-ITC grant application. Committee members are encouraged to contact ITC members during the June through mid-July period regarding the IOGA grant request. Committee members are encouraged to attend ITC meetings when they are in your region of the state. The chairperson of the Committee is responsible to develop an agenda in consultation with the Executive Director, chair meetings using Roberts Rules of Order and appoint someone to record the minutes of all meetings. Minutes should be distributed to all committee members and the IOGA staff.
Make-Up of Committee:
The Committee should reflect the general make-up of IOGA with at least 5 members. Chapter liaison participation is encouraged. Any member of IOGA can attend meetings.
