Special Room rates for Annual IOGA December Conference. The IOGA staff and executive committee have arranged for $69 (plus taxes) room rates for the annual December 8-10, 2004 conference at the DoubleTree Riverside Hotel in Boise (Garden City). The $69 rate is a reduction from $79 of last year. In order for IOGA to avoid a substantial fee for use of meeting rooms, room nights must total 200. Call the DoubleTree Riverside (208.343.1871) by November 30 for lodging reservations.

- Monday, December 6-IOGA Board of Director meeting
- Tuesday, December 7-Board of Director meeting continues; IOGA Committees meet beginning 2 pm.
- Wednesday, December 8-Hunt and River Section meeting begin at 10 am. General session & luncheon at noon. Section meetings including REC Section meet from 2-5:30 pm. Reception for all attendees including new and prospective members at 5:45. Evening program will feature a drama presentation by Clark Heglar who will portray one of Idaho's most colorful characters, Robert "Two Gun" Limbert, the man from the Sawtooths. This presentation is made possible by the Idaho Humanities Council.
- Thursday, December 9-Exhibitors available all day; Morning sessions on "Website evaluation"; Panel discussion on special use permitting issues with federal agencies and outfitting industry reps; Operations Network (round table discussions on topics of interest such as insurance, Triple A marketing opportunity, e-newsletters, allocation, booking agents and more. Luncheon with awards/short presentations. Afternoon includes exhibitor set aside time, IOGLB Interagency meeting, Women of IOGA. Evening includes IOGA Party with 50th anniversary cake, silent auction, poetry contest, election results.
- Friday, December 10-Morning sessions: Better Business Bureau presentation and Frank Church Wilderness outfitter meeting with Forest Service. New IOGA board member orientation. Friday afternoon-Board of Director meeting.
Nominations for Licensing Board and Resource Manager of the Year Sought. Each year, the term of one of the three outfitter positions on the Idaho Outfitters and Guides Licensing Board expires. IOGA is seeking nominations of licensed outfitter/guides with a minimum of five years experience as a licensee. IOGLB terms are three years. IOGLB incumbent Scott Farr's term expires in April of 2005. The IOGA process for sending two names for gubernatorial consideration includes requesting nominations, a written and oral interview with the IOGA board of directors during the upcoming December IOGA conference in Boise and selection by the IOGA board of nominees to send to the Governor. Nominations for the IOGA Resource Manager of the Year Award that will be awarded during the IOGA conference of December 8-10, 2004 are being accepted at idoutfitt@cableone.net Each year since 1988, IOGA has recognized a person who is connected to Idaho natural resource management for his/her commitment to the resource along with his/her promotion of communication and partnership with the industry.
IOGA website has new webmaster. Through a competitive process, the IOGA has chosen the firm of AB Positive of Boise to manage the IOGA website into the future. The IOGA website was first developed in 1996. Recently, five bids were received and evaluated.
